Adam Proteau: Luck of the Goalie Gods a notable factor in Stanley Cup success The hockey world talks a lot about "Hockey Gods" - the unquantifiable element of the game that leads to shocks and upsets. But as we're seeing in this year's Stanley Cup playoffs, there's a similar group of those gods – the Goalie Gods – whose whims also play a major role in how games unfold and champions are decided.

How about the truly Forgotten Man in Pekka Rinne? Long since relegated to "worst starting goalie" status, has been near perfect in these playoffs.
